Psi Psi Omega Chapter
Chartered June 14, 2014 – Stafford, VA – Mid-Atlantic Region
On June 7, 2014, the Pearls of Promise Interest Group officially chartered as Psi Psi Omega Chapter, under the leadership of Linda H. Gilliam, 17th Mid-Atlantic Regional Director. The formation of this chapter in the Mid-Atlantic Region was in response to the growing presence of educated African American women in Stafford and Fauquier Counties, VA. Assisting Dr. Gilliam was Cheryl Ivey, Northern Western Virginia Cluster Coordinator. Nadine Beach was installed as the first president of Psi Psi Omega Chapter.
The charter members of Psi Psi Omega Chapter are: Celeste Adams Simmons, Aisha Ameen, Rita Archer-Clark, Seidah Ashshaheed, Nadine Beach, Earlene Bedford, Karen Blue-Young, Shondae Brumsey, Shelia Buford, Jennifer H. Cole, Oonina Copeland, Zena Culp, Rhonda Cunningham-Still, Karen Davis, Patricia Dunn, Pamela Gardner, Tarama Giles, Deborah Hill, Patricia Hill, Adrienne Hutchings, Veronica Jackson, Lori Jenkins, Norline Jenkins-DePeiza, Francesca Johnson, Sheila K. Johnson, Crystal Jones, Kenyetta Kendrick, Erin Littlepage, Vera Ransom, Darlene Roberson, Temekia Sanders Roberts, Charlottie Russell, Lorrie Sanders, Regina Sawyer, Tonja C. The Chapter is composed of women who offer their diverse talents and resources to uplift, empower, and educate the community.
Psi Psi Omega Chapter's vision is created from the years of service provided by our members, and their shared desire to keep Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, supreme in service. As active community members in Stafford and Fauquier Counties, Psi Psi Omega Chapter intends to be an integral community asset. The Chapter strives to implement programs that are purposeful, socially significant and exemplify the organization’s signature program and targets.
LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR FUTURE
Ten years later, with approximately 65 members strong, service and sisterhood remain the cornerstones of our chapter. Under the leadership of Psi Psi Omega's current President, Dr. Christie Murray, the chapter remains poised, prepared, and positioned to anticipate and meet the needs in our serving communities by “Rising” and “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood,” by advancing the International President, Danette Anthony Reed's 2022-2026 administration’s initiatives.
